Celebrating Romance the 520 Way: Strategic Sports' Annual Matchmaking Event

At Strategic Sports, our 'People First' philosophy has never been just a workplace value. It extends to the lives our people build beyond the factory floor. Few traditions embody this more warmly than our annual 520 matchmaking event, held each year on May 20th. In Chinese culture, this date has come to represent love and romance, as "520" (wǔ èr líng) sounds like "I love you" (我爱你, wǒ ài nǐ) in Mandarin. It is a day for couples and would-be couples alike to celebrate connection.

And since we have a truly global culture, he spirit of 520 extended beyond China as both our China and Vietnam locations hosted their own celebrations, each bringing together single employees for an evening of games, laughter, and the possibility of something more.

      在韬略，我们的“以人为本”的理念早已不仅仅是一种工作理念。它延伸到了员工们在工厂之外所构建的生活之中。在我们看来，没有什么传统比我们的年度 520 相亲活动更能体现这一点了。每年我们都会举行这一活动。在中国文化中，这个日期已经象征着爱情和浪漫，因为“520”（“五二零”）在普通话中听起来就是“我爱你”（我爱你，wǒ ài nǐ）。这一天是情侣们以及所有单身人士庆祝彼此联系的日子。

      而且由于我们的文化是全球性的，520 的精神也超越了中国范围，在我们的中国和越南分公司也都举办了各自的庆祝活动，每次活动都会让单身员工们聚在一起，度过一个充满游戏、欢笑和可能的进一步发展机会的夜晚。

China: A New Setting, A Fresh Atmosphere

This year's China event marked a departure from previous years, taking the celebration offsite to a nearby farm. The change of scenery added a relaxed, open-air warmth to the evening. A guest dining experience was introduced for the first time, adding a new layer of connection to the program. With 22 male and 22 female guests in attendance, the evening was filled with the kind of shared moments that make lasting impressions. By the end of the night, five couples had successfully paired up.

中国：全新环境，全新氛围

    今年的中国活动与以往有所不同，将庆祝活动移至附近的一处农场进行。这一环境的改变为夜晚增添了一种轻松、户外的温馨氛围。这是首次引入了宾客用餐体验，为活动增添了新的互动层次。出席活动的宾客中有 22 名男性和 22 名女性，整个夜晚充满了那种能留下深刻印象的共同时刻。活动结束时，有五对宾客成功配对。

Vietnam: Love in Full Bloom

For our Vietnam team, the occasion offered something a little different: an invitation to share in a cherished company tradition rooted in Chinese culture, adapted and embraced as their own. With nine male and ten female guests participating, the evening delivered remarkable results. Seven couples successfully matched, a pairing rate that speaks to both the enthusiasm of the participants and the care that goes into crafting these experiences.

For Norman Cheng, Managing Director of Strategic Sports, events like these are a natural expression of who the company is. "We spend so much of our lives at work, surrounded by the people we work alongside every day," he says. "It isn’t easy to meet someone special, and so it only makes sense that we try to create opportunities for these connections to grow into something meaningful. When our people are happy in life, not just at work, that matters deeply to us."

That sentiment is reflected in the results. Across both locations, 12 new couples found each other through this year's event alone, adding to a proud and growing legacy of love stories that began within the Strategic Sports family.

"520 is about more than a date on the calendar," Norman adds. "It's a reminder that building a great company means caring about the whole person. We are proud to play a small part in some very big life moments."

越南：爱的盛放

      对于我们的越南团队而言，此次活动带来了一些与众不同的体验：受邀一同参与一项源自中国文化的珍贵企业传统，该传统经过改编并被他们所接纳。共有 9 名男性和 10 名女性嘉宾参与其中，当晚的活动取得了令人瞩目的成果。有 7 对情侣成功配对，这一配对率既体现了参与者的热情，也彰显了精心策划这些活动所付出的心血。

      对于韬略董事长郑董来说，此类活动是公司特质的自然体现。“我们一生中大部分时间都在工作，身边围绕着每天与我们共事的人，”他说，“遇到特别的人并非易事，所以我们理应努力创造机会，让这些联系发展成为有意义的事物。当我们的员工在生活中感到快乐，而不仅仅是工作时，这对我们来说意义重大。”

      这种情感在结果中得到了体现。在两个地点，仅今年的活动就促成了 12 对新人相识，为韬略大家族内部开始的爱情故事增添了令人自豪且不断增长的传奇色彩。郑董补充道：“520 不仅仅是一个日历上的约会日期，它还提醒我们，打造一家出色的公司意味着要关注一个人的方方面面。我们很荣幸能在一些重大的人生时刻中发挥小小的积极作用。”
